Fire Horse and Shadow is a feature length web performance experience created and produced in 2021. This work traces the bold and inspiring experiences lived and felt by four generations of Chinese Canadian women growing up in what is now known as Vancouver, British Columbia (MST Territory).

About the event
Firehorse and Shadow is a feature length web performance experience created and produced in 2021. This work traces the bold and inspiring experiences lived and felt by four generations of Chinese Canadian women growing up in what is now known as Vancouver, British Columbia (MST Territory). Against a backdrop of cultural influences, gender inequality, and anti-Chinese racism, creators Andrea Nann and shadow painter and puppeteer Annie Katsura Rollins weave together passages of remembering and forgetting. This unique interactive web-performance was created during the depths of isolation in 2020 and originally released in 2021. It was designed for computer users to experience an intimate, interactive and personalized performance journey.
