About the event

Amy Blanding

Known for her profound songwriting, powerful voice, and electric stage presence, Amy Blanding collects moments in the Northern wild and turns them into stalwart, protest folk songs with a raw edge. Born in the four corners region of Navajo, Hopi, Ute, and Zuni territory (Colorado) and raised on the red shores of Epekwitk - Mi’kmaq territory (PEI) she took the long way home to the traditional and unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh (Prince George). Cutting her teeth with nationally recognized folk rock band Black Spruce Bog, and boasting collaborations with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Kym Gouchie, Rachelle van Zanten, Marcel Gagnon, Reckless Burning, and countless other artists, Amy Blanding’s music seamlessly bridges the gap between audience and artist toward a greater possibility for the collective.

Amy is thrilled and honoured to be joined onstage by her friends Melissa Walker and Genevieve Jaide.

Melissa Walker

After years of supporting fellow musicians on the electric and upright bass, Melissa has put pen to paper and voice to song.

She pulls heartstrings, not punches. Her catchy melodies make for a good time, while her lyrics paint a picture of community, society, and connection. And it’s not all roses. Gritty and cooperative, uncompromising and open-hearted, Melissa invites you to get curious and come along for the listen.

Genevieve Jaide

Genevieve Jaide is a songstress whose music draws deeply from the natural world, her environment, and the captivating souls she has encountered on her journey. Her sound weaves heartfelt emotions through rich lyrics and melodies, all wrapped in a groovy alternative vibe. From alternative to folk, indie-pop to Canadiana, her genre-fluid style maintains a core of lyrical vulnerability and raw expression that sets her apart. Genevieve resides in Northern BC, on Lheidli T'enneh Territory.
